Posted: 10 April 2012 / By Vanessa Seah, B. Comm.

Writing this reflection after our trip to India must be one of the weightiest tasks I have ever undertaken. For one, these will not be the words of Denise, but of mine. Taking over – the pen – from Denise is a big deal. I feel like I have to write up to standard. read on ...

"Plastic Bag Tree..."
and other amusing poems and stories from the award-winning writer, Michael Rosen.

This term, we will read and enjoy stories and poems by Michael Rosen, Children's Laureate in the UK from 2007 to 2009, and famed author of the book We're Going on a Bear Hunt. We will meet a little wind-up toy soldier in I'm Number One, and learn how to play well and love our friends in Life Skills. We will also visit the Maritime Experiential Museum after we read Pirate Jim and Pirate Joe. We will do our part for the environment when we clean up Punggol Beach! Let's hope we never have Plastic Bag Trees in Singapore!

Schedules for Term 2/2012 are shown in the table below. For enquiries on admission, please call our School Administrator (Tanglin), at +65-6836-1450 or use our Online Enquiry Form.

Time to Talk is a programme developed by Alison Schroeder to develop oral and social interaction skills in preschool children. It is a year-long programme and uses the central character of "Ginger Bear" to establish important social and discursive rules such as "listening", "greeting" and "turn-taking". The Project Approach

Posted: 15 March 2006 / Programmes & Admissions Team

On Wednesdays, children in our Bright Starts and Head Starts levels learn about Life Skills. This module incorporates instruction in Emotional Intelligence abilities, as well as adaptive competencies such as dressing, washing and cooking activities. Follow the links to look at pictures of how much the children enjoy this component!

The Bright Starts III, Head Starts I and Head Starts II levels are distinguished by a daily segment called The Project Approach that integrates concept from Mathematics, Science and Language in the process of initiating, presevering through, and completing a task of investigation. In particular, the children are encouraged to

  1. observe and measure phenomena
  2. reason and think through prediction, deduction or inference
  3. represent ideas, concepts and results through art, pictures and words

To better understand how this programme benefits the children who participate in it, follow these links to A Project on Cups and A Project on Hands. It might give you an idea of how, as a learning centre, we strive to produce thinkers, doers and dreamers!
